10Not only that, but Rebekah’s children had one and the same father, our father Isaac. 11Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: 12not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”[d] 13Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”[e]

For who resists his will?” 20But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’ “[h] 21Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

22What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? 23What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— 24even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? 25As he says in Hosea:
“I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people;
and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,”[i] 26and,
“It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them,
‘You are not my people,’
they will be called ’sons of the living God.’ “[j]

27Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:
“Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea,
only the remnant will be saved.

10 Woe to him who says to his father,
‘What have you begotten?’
or to his mother,
‘What have you brought to birth?’

11 “This is what the LORD says—
the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker:
Concerning things to come,
do you question me about my children,
or give me orders about the work of my hands?

12 It is I who made the earth
and created mankind upon it.
My own hands stretched out the heavens;
I marshaled their starry hosts.

I loved this little update even though I knew about it all before you wrote it…there’s just something awesome about different perspectives and writing styles and personalities. I love that it all ends with a fiery proclamation and life speaking destiny prayers over us! haha…who said you’ve lost your roar?

i’m thankful that God has allowed me access into community with you again for a season. love you sister.

the word that popped into my head while reading this was miraculous.

It’s a good word, and it’s good to see God work in ways out of the ordinary to us. Things like that remind me that it’s not all just a fluke or some mental disorder I’ve got. It’s just the miraculous little things that are almost embarrassing to describe to others.

Like today when I was working on a project and trying to get this bolt out for literally 15 minutes, it was totally stripped out and quite crucial to the whole thing, and I was just like, God, this is really important, PLEASE help me to get it out.

And so I try it again and it comes loose on the 2nd try.

God saves the day in those little almost stupid ways, and I can’t help but love him for it.
