Clarifications and adjustments have been made in regards to this documentation process. This is supposed to be a witness to the movement of the Holy Spirit.
3:48 Prayer walking today with Ms. Stacy in McBride Projects. Lady comes out and stands on her stoop as we get out of our car. We walk by. Supposed to go back. Stacy introduces herself. Women backs up and declares she’s been drinking. We press in and give her hugs anyways. She says she’s frustrated. “Why did God send this man to beat me?” We clarify for her. She says “I asked God to take this man away.” We clarify for her. She alone has the authority on what she allows the devil have ground in her life or not according to whether or not she obeys God’s blessings. It’s clear in the word. He has given us the choice of LIFE or death. It’s our choice. I told her I believe the Lord heard her prayer and we were sent to be a living witness to what he’s already said to her in the word of God. Gave her more counsel. Asked if we could pray with her, she said “please. Can I go in and get my daughter?” She did. We prayed over her and her daughter. 20-year-old daughter loves Jesus. Recognized her calling and role of prayer. By the time done praying two little ones had joined our circle.
As we resume our prayer walk with the little ones, we walk by the oldest one’s apartment and I suggest we pray for it and she suggests we pray for her mom. We all go in and pray for her. The daugher reads out of the bible Proverbs 3:5-8 ”Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. 8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.” Stacy and I pray for her too. We move on.
Older of the two little ones, I___ starts talking about wanting a hot pickle more than anything. On and on about hot pickle. Stacy utilizes this teaching moment. Girl prays about getting a dollar. Turn corner, meet group of two grown men and one woman standing by cars. Greet them chat with them. they are polite, asking questions, listening well. Look over one is giving each girl 50 cents. I___ but pickle’s are a dollar. He replies “If you put them together you get a dollar.” They run to the candy store. I sit down on the ground chatting. Girls come back. The younger one has a bag of candy. I___ has a pout. After awhile he gives her the other 50 cents. She gets a pickle. We pray for them and move on.
Within 10 ft of moving on, after she’s tasted the Hot Pickle juice, the Holy Spirit convicts I____. She turns and confesses what the Holy Spirit just brought to mind. As she says it her face pales and backs up. “My momma told me I’m never to beg for money.” She must have asked for money. I first tells her she’s heard the Holy Spirit and shared it outloud with us. The Lord wants us to Honor our mother and father and has brought conviction. She has two options. Conceal or reveal. The only way to be free is to walk in the light. Lying and covering up does not obtain mercy in heaven I read a proverb to her that had showed up earlier in the projects but it wasn’t the right time.
Proverbs 28:13 He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
She knows the right thing is to tell her mom. She relinquishes and walks back towards her apartment with us knowing punishment awaits her. She starts tearing, then starts crying. We send her in and clearly hear rebuke reprimand and much more from the parking lot outside their apartment. We won’t be seeing I___ again for the day.
The younger one is almost through with her bag of candy as we see a familiar face from town but I’ve never seen where she lived. We approach this adult women and her apartment and sit on her front porch as the young girl asks us to read from the bible.
Matthew 18:1-6 1At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2He called a little child and had him stand among them. 3And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5“And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. 6But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
The woman’s apt that we’re at, she has a daughter in high school with health issues and is going to St. Louis in three days. We pray for her daughter, including the little one. She did not know what the word ‘heal’ meant. We explained it to her.
